A file was rejected
- "is not a PDF": the file isn't really a PDF, even if its name ends in .pdf.
- "needs a password to open": the PDF is locked with an open password. MomoPDF can't open these yet. If it's your document and you know the password, see how to save an unlocked copy.
- "its creator doesn't allow changes": the PDF opens normally, but whoever made it (often a bank or official body) blocked changes such as combining or rotating pages. MomoPDF respects that setting. Ask the sender for an unrestricted copy if you need one.
- "looks damaged": the file is incomplete or corrupt. Try re-downloading it, or "print to PDF" from another viewer.
Size limits
There's no limit on the number of pages or files. Each file can be up to 100 MB. Everything runs in your browser's memory, so very large files, or many large files at once, can be slow or fail, especially on phones. We show a warning above 25 MB or 200 pages.
Where did my download go?
Your browser decides where downloads are saved, usually your Downloads folder. Websites can't choose the folder or force a "Save as" window, so MomoPDF uses your browser's normal download.
- iPhone and iPad: open the Files app, then Downloads.
- Android: open your Files app (or Chrome's menu → Downloads).
- Computer: the Downloads folder, or select the download icon in your browser's toolbar.
To choose a folder every time, turn on your browser's "ask where to save" setting:
- Chrome: Settings → Downloads → turn on "Ask where to save each file before downloading".
- Edge: Settings → Downloads → turn on the option to ask where to save each file.
- Firefox: Settings → General → Files and Applications → choose "Always ask you where to save files".
- Safari on Mac: Settings → General → File download location → "Ask for each download".
Menu names can differ slightly between browser versions.
The download didn't start
Some browsers block downloads they didn't expect. Check your browser's download bar or settings and select Download PDF again.
What's preserved
Everything on your pages stays the same: text, images, comments and links. Bookmarks and fillable forms are kept too. When you split a PDF, the pages you remove are fully removed — nothing is left hidden in the new file. One thing not kept yet: hidden accessibility labels that some PDFs include for screen readers.
Protected PDFs
Some PDFs open without a password but carry restrictions from their creator. If those restrictions allow page changes, MomoPDF processes the file on your device and the result keeps the same restrictions, for example "no printing". You'll see a note when this applies.
Images to PDF
JPG and PNG are supported. Photos from your phone come out the right way up, just like in your gallery. Other formats (HEIC, WebP, GIF) aren't supported yet.
Is anything watermarked?
No. MomoPDF never adds a watermark or logo to your files.
